Time fly away so fast! I will leave to next host family tomorrow.
The 4H-club took place the midterm gathering for us the day before yesterday. We have enjoyed the horse back riding, playing with water balloons, and making origami works. The Labo children who could join the gathering were almost cheerfully and enjoying this gathering and their homestay. One of the girl told me that she had just quarreled with her host 30minutes before gathering! I hope they became to familier with each other soon.
During stay at Lorraine's home, they took me to several places and introduced me to many people so that my small gifts such as friendship-coins were almost passed by. I should bring more coins. I also brought hand maded book marks, but it will be not enough to pass by during the next stay. So I am folding paper cranes and paper balloons and so on during the long drive. Also I am writing the name of the people who became to my friend in Japanese with brush pen on the small letter paper.
Jaimee, one of the Lorraine's niece is staying here and going out with us. She is 14 years old, so I would like her to host Japanese girl or come to Japan next year.
It was nine years ago that I went to Michigan as a chaperone. So there are several things that have changed. The most things of them are the security check at the immigration gate and the circumstances of internet and the disital camera, I think.
The 4H-coordinator of Ontario takes care of the exchangees and their host families very much. She calls me often to let me know how the exchangees are doing and how the host families are thinking about them. So I can talk with them friendly and particularly.
I hope the exchangees get over their problems by themselves and have a good days with their host families in Ontario Canada.
I am also enjoying my homestay as my host takes me to several places and show me the typical Ontario and talk with many people I have met.
I am writing this diary at Ontario Canada. I can read this web page in Japanese, but I can not write in Japanese. Because this computer's key board is not corresponded to Japanese. I miss my computer! On the gathering at Narita, there were unbelievable number of kids who had not bring their important documents or pictures or int'l exchange notebooks! After the gatherling, there were many things to worry about them. But anyway, the Labo kids were staying at their host families safely and so did I the day before yesterday. The very beginning of the homestay some troubule happened to the Labo kids. As I am a chaperone, I am taking care of the Labo kids and the host families on the phone. And they are almost going well for the moment. I hope this relationship would continue long.
I could not get the email from the first host family before leaving, so I could not image the life at here. But they are very good persons. During my host Lorraine goes to work, her husband Russel drove me to the market and Park and so on. I thank him very much.
The weather is hot here in the day time but the breaze is very nice and it is cooler in the night. So I feel very comfortable staying here. I became more cheerful than staying in Japan!
